The City of Moorhead employs three individuals certified as Child Passenger Safety (CPS) Technicians that can assist parents and caregivers in the proper installation of child safety seats. They frequently work with the Safe Kids program on Thursdays, in which a car seat clinic is available at a Safe Kids Safety Shoppe, located at 601 39 Street North in Fargo and by appointment at one of the City fire stations.
Police Officer Bloch is a Senior Checker with Safe Kids. She is dedicated to Child Passenger Safety and double checks all car seats at the Safety Shoppe prior to the vehicle leaving the site.
Police Officer Reno is a member of the Minnesota Child Passenger Safety Advisory Board. The mission of the board is to maintain the quality and integrity of the child passenger safety program in the State of Minnesota. This is done through providing the CPS sessions at the annual Towards Zero Deaths Conference, updating printed materials and state CPS curriculums, and providing legislative guidance. The board channels insight from local CPS advocates and brings that information to the board meetings.
Firefighter Hovis conducts car seat inspections for the City and participates in other safety initiatives in the community.
If you have questions about child restraints or if you need to have your car seat checked please contact our CPS Technicians.
