Armed Robbery at Wells Fargo Bank, Hornbacher's Branch

Post Date:12/29/2014 3:40 pm

On December 29, 2014, at approximately 11:50 am, officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at a Wells Fargo Bank branch, located inside Hornbacher’s Foods, in Moorhead. The lone subject approached a bank employee, displayed a firearm and demanded cash. The subject left the business with an undisclosed amount of cash and attempted to steal an occupied vehicle in the parking lot prior to fleeing the area southbound on foot.

Shortly thereafter, we received a report that an individual, matching the description of the robbery suspect, kidnapped an adult male in a vehicle near the 99 Bottles business located approximately one block west of Hornbacher’s. The subject ordered the victim to drive him to Fargo, ND, and the subject allowed the victim to exit the vehicle near the West Acres shopping mall. The subject then left the area with the victim’s vehicle described as a 4 door, 2010 model, maroon colored Ford F-150, with MN license plate 007NBD. The vehicle was last seen northbound on 42 St S near 13 Ave S in Fargo, ND. There were no other occupants in the victim's vehicle.

The subject is described as a black male, medium build, in his 50’s, under 6 feet tall.  He has short, dark colored hair with some gray, slight receding hairline and dark spots on face.  He was wearing a dark colored jacket, carrying a blue sports bag with draw strings and may have spoken with a southern accent.

If you have any information on the subject’s identity, location, or location of the stolen vehicle, please contact the Red River Regional Dispatch Center at 701.451.7660.
