Two Moorhead Firefighters sworn in by Mayor Williams

Probationary Firefighters Mike Miller and Derek Berg were sworn in as permanent Firefighters for the City of Moorhead by Mayor Williams at the City Council Meeting last night. Once hired by the City, new employees at the Fire Department serve a one-year probationary period during which they complete a recruit training program, a skills task book and quarterly performance evaluations. |

Firefighter Miller is originally from Canby, Minnesota and worked as a firefighter at Hector International Airport in Fargo. He is a certified Firefighter II, Airport Firefighter, Driver/Operator, Hazardous Materials Technician, Fire Instructor I, Fire Officer I, and Emergency Medical Technician. |

Firefighter Berg is originally from Madison, Minnesota and worked as a firefighter in South Sioux City, Nebraska. He is a certified Firefighter II, Hazardous Materials Technician and holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Fire Technology and Administration from Lake Superior College. |
