On Monday, March 18, at approximately 1:09 a.m., the Moorhead Fire and Police Departments and Sanford Ambulance responded to a medical assist of a child not breathing at 1502 Belsly Boulevard South. Sanford Ambulance transported the boy to Sanford Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. The deceased boy and his younger sibling had been staying at the Moorhead address for an extended period. They had been under the primary care of acquaintances of the biological parents.
The deceased was transported to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Officer for an autopsy. Their office has not released any preliminary cause of death information and will be pending toxicology results.
The younger sibling has been placed in protective custody, and no charges have been filed. The investigation is still ongoing, and no further information is available.
