As part of Severe Weather Awareness Week from April 12-16, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety and the National Weather Service are highlighting important topics that are key to our preparation for severe weather.
This is a great opportunity to inform your families, students, and employees about steps that can be taken to prepare for severe weather and what to do when it does happen. Click on the links below for more information on each topic:
Monday, April 12: Alerts and Warnings
Tuesday, April 13: Severe Weather, Lightning and Hail
Wednesday, April 14: Floods
Thursday, April 15: Tornadoes (with statewide tornado drills)
Friday, April 16: Extreme Heat
In addition, statewide tornado drills will be held Thursday, April 15, including in Moorhead. Outdoor sirens and NOAA weather radios will sound at 1:45 pm and 6:45 pm.
