Fire on 5th Street South Ruled Arson

At 9:10 pm on September 25th, 2018, Moorhead firefighters were called to a fire in a residence reported by a person passing by 722 5th St S in Moorhead. Upon arrival, crews discovered fire on the first and second floors along the south side of the building.
The fire was declared under control at 9:41pm, and caused significant fire damage both inside and outside the home. No one was present in the home which had been vacated prior to scheduled demolition in October. The fire cause has been ruled arson and remains under investigation. Anyone with information on the fire is asked to contact Fire Marshal Chad Stangeland at (218) 299-5433.
