On Wednesday, August 16, 2023, officers conducted a search warrant at a residence in the 3700 Block of 7 Street South. During the search warrant, officers located over 170 fentanyl pills and over 18 grams of fentanyl paste. The search also resulted in the seizure of firearms with ammunition and over $1900 in US currency that were in the vicinity of the drugs. Area law enforcement is continuing its efforts to reduce the supply of these dangerous illegal drugs.

Nelson-Lauderdale was transported to the Clay County Correctional Facility. A long-form complaint was completed requesting First Degree Controlled Substance charges.

The Cass County Drug Task Force and Metro Street Crimes Unit assisted the Moorhead Police Department in the investigation.
