Driver Arrested During Traffic Stop

On 8/11/20 at 7:37 PM, a Moorhead Police Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a minor traffic violation in the 1600 block of 1st Avenue North. The driver was immediately confrontational and refused to identify himself. Attempts to de-escalate and gain compliance were unsuccessful. The male physically resisted officers’ attempts to remove him from the vehicle. Eventually, the driver was Tased which allowed officers to remove him from the vehicle and take him into custody without additional force or injury.
Michael Coleman Brown (50 years old) was arrested and booked into the Clay County Jail for Gross Misdemeanor Obstructing Legal Process and Petty Misdemeanor Impeding Traffic.
