Previously Reported Stolen Dog Returned to Owner
The Moorhead Police Department is providing this information as an update to a June 28 stolen dog report that generated significant community interest. A pitbull dog named Major was removed from the complainant's vehicle while it was parked near the Family Fare Supermarket in South Moorhead. This dog was recovered overnight in Shelly, MN by the Norman County Sheriff's Office as it was in the possession of the complainant's ex-boyfriend. It has been decided that clear legal ownership will need to be determined through civil court and that no criminal charges relating to the dog will be pursued. The dog was returned to the possession of the complainant as she was providing care for the dog at the time it was taken.
