K-9 Police Dog


The Moorhead Police Department K-9 teams have a history of excellence and generally work until their K-9 partner is 10 years old. They are a force-multiplier with their ability to use their keen sense of smell to locate individuals in either a track or building search, find narcotics or assist their human partner if they are fighting with someone. The K-9 team is utilized in a variety ways to assist the community and are a valuable asset for the Moorhead Police Department. Our K-9s are dual-purpose dogs, meaning they are trained for finding narcotics as well as patrol (building searches, tracking, article detection and physical apprehension).
