Moorhead Shooting Investigation: UPDATE (2)

The City of Moorhead Police Department submitted initial case reports to the Clay County Attorney’s office in relation to the drive by shooting in the 1100 block of 12 Street South on June 19, 2025.

After a review of the case the Clay County Attorney’s Office has filed charges on a 17-year-old juvenile to include:

  • Attempted Murder – 1st Degree With Intent – While Committing a Felony – Felony
  • Attempted Murder – 2nd Degree Drive by Shooting – Felony (3 counts)
  • Assault – 1st Degree Great Bodily Harm – Felony
  • Assault – 2nd Degree Dangerous Weapon – Felony (2 counts)
  • Dangerous Weapons – Drive by Shooting Towards a Person – Felony (2 counts)

Due to Minnesota data restriction, we are unable to publicly identify the juvenile. The juvenile is not in custody and authorities are actively working to take that individual into custody. There is a nationwide arrest warrant for the juvenile.  

The vehicle in this case, a white Chrysler 300 with Minnesota plates EJJ379 has not been located. The firearm in this case has not been recovered. There is still an unknown risk to public safety. Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact the Moorhead Police Department.

The case remains active and there is no other information to release at this time.
