On May 9, 2016, at approximately 5:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Casey's General Store located at 1702 30 Avenue South in Moorhead. The lone male suspect entered the store and displayed a handgun as he ordered an employee to provide cash from the till drawers. The suspect fled from the area on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. No employees were injured during the robbery. Police established a perimeter and were assisted by a Clay County Sheriff's K9 Unit to attempt a track. The suspect has not been located or identified as of this time. Investigators are releasing surveillance images of the suspect.
The subject is being described as a lighter skinned male believed to be in his early 20's. His height is estimated as 6'1" - 6'2" with a medium build. He was wearing sweatpants with a white or light colored hooded sweatshirt with no significant print on the front. His identity was further concealed by a material used to cover his face.
Police are asking for the public's assistance with any information that may assist with identifying or locating this suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call the Red River Dispatch Center at 701.451.7660 and ask to speak with the on-duty Moorhead Police supervisor.
