Community Home Improvement Loans

Which of these loan resources is right for you?

Most of these special loan programs have household income limits, with the exception of energy conservation and accessibility improvement loans through Minnesota Housing's Fix Up program. The best loan terms are generally the programs with the lower income limits. If you are eligible, the City of Moorhead CDBG or Clay County HRA loans have the best loan terms but typically also the longest waiting lists. There is an exception to the City's waiting list if a life-safety repair is needed to the home (verified by City inspection).

Don’t qualify for one of these special programs?

Local banks also offer home improvement loans and home equity lines of credit. Contact your lender for more details.

Accessibility Ramps

Moorhead teams up with the Home Builders Association of Fargo-Moorhead Remodeler’s Council and Freedom Resource Center to offer accessibility ramps for lower income individuals with disabilities living in Moorhead. If you or someone you know may need this assistance, please contact the Community Development Program Administrator.
