On Monday, January 9th, at approximately 6:54 pm, the members of the Moorhead Police Department and the Moorhead Fire Department responded to the 1800 block of 5 Avenue South for a vehicle fire. Witnesses reported that the vehicle was fully engulfed and the occupants were out of the vehicle. Arriving officers located the female driver outside a near-by residence. The Moorhead Fire Department arrived and extinguished the fire verifying that there was no-one inside the vehicle. The vehicle was stuck in a snowbank and it appeared that the driver was trying to back out of the snowbank. The exact cause of the fire is unknown. The vehicle was a total loss.
The driver, 46 year old Jessica Neuleib, of Moorhead was arrested for DWI based on witness statements and the investigation. She was later processed for DWI, booked in at the Clay County Jail and released for Misdemeanor DWI.
The Moorhead Police Department and Moorhead Fire Department were assisted by the Minnesota State Patrol during this incident.
