Community Involvement

Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detectors

Every home should have working smoke detectors and most should also have a working carbon monoxide detector. If you can’t afford these, we may be able to install them in your home for free. Contact our Assistant Fire Marshal at 218.299.5433 to learn more.

Annual Fire Department Open House

Each year at the end of Fire Prevention Week in October, we hold an Open House at Station 1. Come tour the station, meet our staff, learn about the services we provide, watch demonstrations, and participate in hands-on fire education activities. Check our list of upcoming events for details.

Station Tours

Besides numerous fire station tours in October leading up to Fire Prevention Week, we also conduct tours throughout the year. We give tours for visitors, families, civic groups, school classes, and home schooled students. Call 218.299.5432 to schedule a tour of either station.

Night to Unite

Each year, on the first Tuesday in August, neighborhood block clubs across Moorhead celebrate Night to Unite. We work hard to attend as many of these events as we can. You can request a fire department visit to your event by contacting the Community Policing Coordinator at 218.299.5143. Learn more about Night to Unite or register your block party online.

Special Events

We attend public festivals and special events to provide tours of our fire engines and provide fire safety messages. Call 218.299.5298 to schedule us at your event.

Fire Extinguisher Training

We provide hands-on training in the use of fire extinguishers for groups and organizations. Call 218.299.5433 to learn more or schedule training.
