All Outdoor Burning Prohibited in Moorhead

This order valid until revoked by the Fire Chief

Moorhead Fire Chief Rich Duysen issued a ban, effective immediately and until further notice on all outdoor burning within Moorhead city limits.  This ban revokes any previously issued permits and also prohibits recreational burns, camp fires, and burning in fire pits and devices intended to contain small fires.  While this ban does not apply to gas and charcoal grills, residents are asked to use extreme caution with these devices as well.

Extremely dry vegetation conditions, high winds, low humidity and warm temperatures will contribute to extreme fire behavior and have prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Red Flag Warning for our area.
