Sam's Club Awards Fire Prevention Grant to Moorhead Fire Department
Today the Moorhead Fire Department was awarded a $2000 grant from Sam's Club to purchase youth fire prevention education materials. Each year, during fire prevention week, Moorhead Fire conducts station tours and fire safety presentations for school children, conducts an Open House with educational presentations and participates in a statewide fire prevention week poster contest for second graders. These programs will see some new materials as a result of this grant.
A recognition luncheon was held today at the soon to open Sam's Club on 27th Avenue in Moorhead. Nine organizations were awarded a total of $40,000 to fund programs that have a direct impact in our community.
