Death Investigation in Memorial Park

Police Respond to an Unattended Death on the Railroad Tracks

On Sunday, October 17, 2021, at approximately 11:45 am, Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad employees reported a possible medical emergency on the north railroad tracks in Memorial Park, just north of the Moorhead Center Mall. Moorhead Police Officers and Moorhead Firefighters arrived and located an obviously deceased adult female. The train that stopped did block downtown traffic for approximately an hour while the investigation was being conducted. There is nothing suspicious regarding the investigation and no danger to the public. No name or other identifying information about the deceased is available at this time.
