On September 1, 2021, at 10:30 PM the Moorhead Police Department responded to the 1100 block of 19 Street South for reports of shots fired. Initial reports indicated an individual may have been injured as a result of a shooting. Red River Regional Dispatch center received multiple 911 calls for the incident.
Officers arrived and identified a parking lot where the shooting had occurred. An adult victim was later located a short distance from the crime scene. The victim had sustained a gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital with non-life threating injuries.
Initial information is indicating this is not a random event and the involved parties are known to each other. The investigation is ongoing and there have been no arrests. There is no additional information to release at this time.
