On Sunday, July 4, 2021, at approximately 3:00 pm, an Officer was investigating suspicious activity occurring in the 2500 block of 4 Avenue North. A short foot pursuit took place, and shots were fired. The suspect was taken into custody, and no injuries were reported.
The incident was isolated, and there is no belief of danger to the public. The investigation is very active at this time. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension has been contacted and will be investigating the officer-involved shooting. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office will be handling the criminal investigation regarding this incident.
The Moorhead Police Department was assisted on scene by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.
