On June 8th, 2021 at 8:18 p.m., first responders were dispatched to the intersection of 40th Avenue and 11th Street South for an injury accident. It was learned that a 15 year old female was riding her bicycle across 40th Avenue within a marked cross walk when a vehicle traveling eastbound struck her. The juvenile was transported to Sanford Hospital by FM Ambulance with, what appeared to be, serious injuries. Her condition is not known at this time. The driver, Daniel Grout (31 years old) was interviewed at the scene. The cause of the crash appears to be a result of inattentive driving. Excessive speed and alcohol are not factors in this incident. This investigation is ongoing and any recommended charges are pending the outcome.
