Spring thaw can cause odors in retention ponds

As spring arrives, some stormwater retention ponds around the City of Moorhead may emit a strong, unpleasant odor due to rotting vegetation. This is a normal occurrence and is not dangerous. If you experience these odors in your neighborhood, please know that they will dissipate naturally over time.
