On Thursday, November 19, 2020, at approximately 7:15 pm, the Moorhead Police Department was dispatched to the 1900 block of 18 Avenue South for a report of two injured females requesting assistance. Officer determined an acquaintance in their apartment assaulted the two females. The male had used several items to assault them, including a knife. Both females received significant injuries to the upper body, and we were transported by ambulance to Sanford for treatment.

The suspect, Ashton Bellefeuille, was later located and arrested. A long-form complaint was filed with the Clay County Attorney’s Office for the following charges: First Degree Assault, Second Degree Assault, and Domestic Assault.

The Moorhead Police Department was assisted by the United States Marshals Service High Plains Fugitive Task Force in taking the suspect into custody.
