Celebrate Independence Day Safely!

Post Date:07/03/2020 10:19 am

As we prepare to celebrate America this weekend, here's some helpful information from Moorhead Fire Department on fireworks--legal and illegal. Stay on the legal side! Remember our neighbors with PTSD that are impacted by fireworks. Thanks for your consideration, Moorhead!

Certain non-explosive and non-aerial fireworks are permitted in Minnesota. Examples of legal fireworks:

  • Sparklers
  • Cones and tubes that emit sparks
  • Novelty items like "snakes" and party poppers

Anything that flies or explodes is illegal. Examples of illegal fireworks:

  • Firecrackers
  • Bottle rockets
  • Missiles
  • Roman candles
  • Mortars and shells

Please enjoy the holiday weekend - leave the big fireworks to the pros and attend Moorhead Business Association's July 4 fireworks presentation!
