COVID-19 Relief Grants of up to $10,000 available for Minnesota-based small businesses

Apply June 23 – July 2

Post Date:06/19/2020 4:28 pm

Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development has released details of a $60.3 million COVID-19 relief grant program for small businesses. The application period begins June 23 and closes July 2 at 5 pm. Moorhead businesses are encouraged to apply.

Funds will be distributed by a lottery of all eligible applicants. Eligibility requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • 50 or fewer full-time employees
  • Permanent physical location in Minnesota
  • Majority-owned by permanent Minnesota resident

High interest in the program is expected. A randomized, computer-generated lottery process will be used to select eligible businesses that will receive awards. All awards will be administered by qualified local and regionally based nonprofit agencies, and the grant funds can be used for working capital to support payroll expenses, rent, mortgage payments, utility bills, and other similar business expenses.

Businesses must be able to demonstrate hardship as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak. Additional eligibility requirements and application information can be found online at DEED’s Small Business Relief Grants page.
