Disturbance Involving a Gun in Moorhead

On 5/20/20 at 5:28 p.m., Moorhead Police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 400 block of 16th Street South for a report of a disturbance involving a gun having been pointed at someone.  Officers arrived and learned that the male with the gun had gone inside this residence.  Officers were able to make announcements and call out four adults from inside the house.  Officers entered the residence and located two more adults hiding inside. 

During the course of the investigation, it was determined that a domestic dispute had occurred prior to officers arriving.  Courtney Smith (31 year old male) was arrested for Domestic Assault-related charges.  During a follow-up search of the residence, a stolen handgun was located inside the house.  Travon Spears (21 year old male) was arrested for 2nd Degree Assault and Possession of Stolen Property in relation to the threat involving the firearm. 

No gunshots were fired during this incident.  No one was seriously injured.  There is no ongoing threat to the public.  Police are not searching for anyone else involved in this incident.
