MOORHEAD, MN (April 3, 2020): Earlier today, the City of Fargo made the following announcement on behalf of FM metro communities: “In a unified community response to challenges precipitated by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Cities of Fargo, West Fargo, Moorhead and Dilworth have rescheduled the annual metro spring cleanup week to September 14-18, 2020. The City of Horace has rescheduled its Cleanup Day to Saturday, September 19.”
Public Works Director Steve Moore says, “May Clean Up Week is a longstanding tradition in our metro area. Postponing the date is not a decision made lightly. The significant resources and teamwork needed to conduct Clean Up Week cannot be performed within the current COVID-19 recommendations of public health officials. The continuity of regular sanitation service is our priority. We need to keep our sanitation crews healthy.”
As announced earlier this week, due to COVID-19 health protocols implemented, curbside trash pickup is limited to recycling and garbage totes. The City of Moorhead Solid Waste Transfer Station, located at 2727 US Hwy 10, is open to the public weekdays from 8 am to 4:15 pm for excess garbage disposal. Excess trash charges for transfer station use may be paid by credit card, cash, or check.
Thank you for your cooperation with this service change, which is made in the interest of public health, the safety of City employees, and continuity of service. More information on Clean Up Week is available at cityofmoorhead.com.
