On February 9th, 2020, officers were informed of an accidental discharge of a firearm within the city of Moorhead that had occurred earlier in the morning. Through the investigation, it was determined the incident happened in the 400 block of 8th St S and the only injury was a minor wound to the person handling the weapon. The bullet entered the ceiling and there was nobody above the room where it occurred. Upon completion of the investigation, reports will be submitted to the Clay County Attorney's Office for consideration of charges for reckless discharge of a firearm within a municipality.
