On Wednesday, May 1, at approximately 5:39pm, Moorhead Police responded to a robbery at the Gate City Bank located inside the Azool Hornbachers, 950 40th Avenue South. A suspect entered the bank and provided a bank employee with a note demanding money and stated the suspect was armed.

With the quality surveillance video, the U.S. Marshals Service was able to assist in identifying the suspect. He has been identified as Robert Vaughn Evans, age 51. Evans does not have a local address and has outstanding warrants out of West Virginia.

It is not believed that Evans is still in our area. He was last seen driving a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe with Iowa license plates DNL661.

Charges will be filled with the Clay County Attorney’s Office for Felony 2nd Degree Robbery.
