Man Arrested After Jumping from a Third Story Window

Post Date:04/18/2019 4:53 am

On April 17th, shortly after 10:00pm, officers were dispatched to the area of 18th Avenue South and 20th Street South for a report of a man chasing a woman with a gun and a knife. The victim was upset but unharmed. She provided officers with a description of the suspect and a location he may have returned to. Contact was made with the tenant of that apartment. When calling out the male subject by name, he jumped from a third story window, falling 25 feet to the lawn below. An officer on perimeter at ground level saw him and a foot chase was initiated. The suspect ran into a residential area and a K9 track was started. The male was found hiding inside a three season porch of a house he did not belong to and taken into custody. He was identified as 47 year old Kevin Haas and is currently receiving medical care for multiple injuries sustained during his jump. He will be charged with several crimes for his conduct during this incident, as well as a felony probation violation warrant.
