NWS Updates Crest Predictions for Moorhead

Present River Level: 31.3 ft and rising

NWS Crest Prediction: 35.0 ft


April 5, 2019: The National Weather Services continues to monitor conditions and make updates to its deterministic crest forecast. Currently, the Red River is expected to crest at 35 feet on April 7.

City crews have completed over 72 action steps in the City’s flood plan for a 35 foot crest. Crews will be in the field implementing various steps of the flood plan and monitoring the situation throughout the weekend.

We are all looking forward to nice spring-like weather this weekend! We hope you will get out and enjoy the great outdoors. But please keep your distance from the river and flood infrastructure!
