The Moorhead Police continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the four vehicle fatal accident that occurred at 12:05 p.m., Saturday, January 6.  The Minnesota State Patrol is conducting the accident reconstruction investigation that occurred in the eastbound Highway 10 left turn lane for 34 Street.  A full size Ford F-150 pickup struck the rear of a vehicle occupied by Logan William Ness (24 years old from Moorhead), Alyse Ann Engen (22 years old from Breckenridge) and their two year old son Zaiden David Engen.  Zaiden Engen was transported to the Sanford Health Center and died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.  Zaiden Engen was restrained in a child restraint car seat.

The driver of the Ford pickup has been identified as Jeremy James Sagvold (42 years old from Sabin).  Jeremy Sagvold has been cooperative with authorities  and did not show signs of impairment through field sobriety testing at the time of the accident.  Speed is being considered a factor in this investigation with considerations for any secondary factors that may also be associated.  Upon completion of the investigation, the case will be forwarded to the Clay County Attorney's office for review and consideration for appropriate criminal charges.
