Arrest Made in Fatal Shooting Investigation

At approximately 8:50 pm on April 6, 2017, Officers from the Moorhead Police Department responded to 1813 16 Street South in reference to a reported shooting inside the residence.  Upon arrival, Officers located a male victim lying in the neighboring driveway.  The victim was provided medical attention for gunshot injuries and was transported to the Sanford hospital by FM Ambulance for serious life-threatening injuries.  Officers inside the residence identified the suspect, witnesses, and secured the scene.  It was learned that multiple rounds had been discharged from the handgun which was secured as evidence.  The immediate area and neighboring residences were checked to ensure that nobody else was injured.

Neil James Johnson (25 years old from Moorhead) is being held in the Clay County Jail pending a Long Form Complaint through the Clay County Attorney's Office for appropriate felony level charges to include First Degree Manslaughter.  The victim, Jacob Cole Glover (28 years old from West Fargo) has died from the injuries he sustained.  These males were acquaintances that had a dispute-argument with no greater public safety concerns.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) mobile crime lab will be processing the scene today.  The investigation is on-going.
