On November 3, 2016, at approximately 1715 hours, Officers were sent to the area of 1600 block of 18 St S for a report of a burglary. The homeowner returned to the house and noticed her doors were open. A neighbor told her that someone just ran out the back door of the residence. With the assistance of Clay County Sheriff's Office and the Minnesota State Patrol, we were able to establish a perimeter and Moorhead K9 Milo tracked the suspect. They tracked between 15-20 blocks before locating the suspect hiding in a screened-in porch in the back of residence in the 1300 block of 10 Ave S. The suspect has been identified as COLBY THOMAS KNUDSON (21) who is homeless. He is being held at the Clay County Jail for the following charges:
- 1st Degree Burglary (Felony)
- 4th Degree Burglary (Misdemeanor)
- Fleeing on Foot (Misdemeanor)
- Theft (Misdemeanor)
