Two Unrelated Felony Assault Arrests in Moorhead

At approximately 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, November 1, Moorhead Police responded to the 500 block of 19 Street South for a physical domestic.  The male suspect was physically assaulting his girlfriend and smashing items inside the apartment.  The male suspect, later identified as MIGUEL ANGEL GARCIA (30 years old from Moorhead) attempted to flee from officers on foot and was physically apprehended by a police canine.  Garcia suffered superficial injuries to his left shoulder and denied medical treatment.  Garcia is being held in the Clay County Jail on felony domestic assault charges.

At approximately 11:10 a.m. Tuesday, November 1, Moorhead Police responded to the 3100 block of 8 Street South in reference to a disturbance involving a vehicle ramming another vehicle.  Officers learned that a male and female agreed to meet at this location to exchange property from their prior relationship.  A male, later identified as the new boyfriend, used his F150 pickup to intentionally ram into the former boyfriend's vehicle.  The passenger in the victim vehicle reported experiencing back pain and was transported by ambulance to Essentia hospital for medical treatment.  TIM LEE JOHNSON (43 years old from Valley City, ND) was taken into custody and is being held in the Clay County Jail on felony 2nd Degree Assault charges for using his vehicle as a weapon.
