A joint press conference is planned by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Moorhead Police Department, Moorhead Business Association, and the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce.  The conference will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at 2:30 p.m. on the southeast corner of the Clay County Courthouse located at 807 11 Street North, Moorhead, MN.

The subject of this press conference will be the upcoming referendum vote for County Question 1, a ½ % sales tax for the funding of the new Correctional Facility and Law Enforcement Center.  Information regarding the choice of paying for this project through the proposed sales tax or through increased Clay County property taxes will be provided.  Members of the Moorhead Business Association and the FMWF Chamber will speak regarding their organizations endorsements of the proposed sales tax.

Those anticipated to speak at the conference are Clay County Sheriff Bill Bergquist,  Moorhead Police Chief David Ebinger, Executive Director of the MBA David Hunstad, Moorhead business owner and former President of the MBA Les Stenerson, and Executive Director of the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce Craig Whitney.
