Four suspects have been identified and are currently being held in the Clay County Jail on numerous criminal charges resulting from an investigation of a reported home invasion in south Moorhead on Tuesday, October 18.  Moorhead Police responded to the 1100 block of Belsly Boulevard at 3:40 a.m., after an apartment tenant jumped from a third floor balcony to flee as three males were breaking down his apartment door to gain entry.  It was later learned that another apartment tenant inside the building that was familiar with these suspects was attacked and robbed in the hallway.  The suspects used the victim's keys to gain entry into his apartment to hide from responding police for many hours.  The male victim was kicked, and repeatedly struck with a baseball bat as the suspects robbed him and stole items from inside the apartment.  The victim was later transported to Essentia hospital for medical attention.

Descriptions of four suspect were provided to local law enforcement.  An officer from the Dilworth Police Department encountered these individuals in an unrelated incident and transported them to the Clay County Jail.  Moorhead investigators have positively identified the four individuals and are holding them on the following charges:

Felony 1st Degree Burglary, 1st Degree Robbery, 2nd Degree Assault, Kidnapping, Misdemeanor 5th Degree Assault, 4th Degree Criminal Damage to Property, and Theft.
