Post Date:10/14/2016 12:52 am

Moorhead Officers were sent to an alarm at Kmart on October 13, 2016, at 2319 hours.  They discovered forced entry near the loading dock area on the north side of the building and asked for assistance from the Clay County Sheriff's Office K9 team.  Several loud announcements were made warning anyone inside that a police K9 was about to enter the building and time was provided for anyone inside to surrender.  K9 Deekon quickly located the suspect hiding near the back door and physically apprehended him until he could be secured by officers.

No other suspects were located and it did not appear that he had time to gain access to the store portion of the building.  He was taken to Sanford to be medically cleared for injuries to his back and arm, before being transferred to the Clay County Jail.  He has been identified as Juan Patrick Eugene Bunker, a 23 year old homeless man.  He had an outstanding warrant for 4th Degree DUI. He is being held for the following charges:

  1. Trespassing (Misdemeanor)
  2. 4th Degree Criminal Damage to Property (Misdemeanor)
