On Tuesday, September 27, 2016, Moorhead Police responded to a reported burglary in progress in the 2100 block of 17 Street South.  The homeowner had entered their residence over the noon hour and encountered a male burglarizing the house.  The homeowner chased the male as the suspect ran from the residence.  Prior to leaving the scene in a silver colored passenger car, the suspect threatened the homeowner by pointing a handgun at him.  The homeowner was not injured during this incident.

Through investigation, a person of interest was identified and was located by Moorhead Police last evening during a disturbance call in the 3000 block of 17 Street South.  ROBERT EARL LUCAS  (26 years old from Moorhead) was ultimately taken into custody without incident and is being held in the Clay County Jail on Felony 1^st Degree Burglary and 2^nd Degree Robbery charges.  Additional arrests are possible.

During the course of the investigation the Moorhead Police Department was assisted by the Metro Street Crimes Unit.
