This is a joint News Release from the Moorhead Fire and Police Departments
On Tuesday June 28, 2016, Moorhead Fire and Police Departments responded to an active house fire at 1019 11 Avenue South. As fire crews were suppressing the fire, responders did not immediately locate any victims inside the residence. A subsequent extensive search through the large amount of debris resulted in the discovery of a burnt body of a deceased individual. Positive identification of the victim will be determined through the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office. The fire is under investigation to determine the cause and origin. The death is considered of suspicious nature with the scene being fully processed by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Fire Marshal, and local police and fire investigators. The investigation is on-going.
