At 7:31pm, Moorhead firefighters responded to a report by a caller on the First Avenue North Bridge of a male possibly in the river. Crews from the Moorhead and Fargo Fire Departments and Moorhead and Fargo Police Departments began searching the area. Police Officers located clothing and a backpack along the river and shortly after their arrival Fargo Fire crews spotted the male victim clinging to tree branches in the river from their vantage point on the Bridge.
Moorhead Fire crews entered the river and were able to bring the victim to shore and and secured him to a stretcher. Police Officers and Firefighters them hauled him up the river bank where he was evaluated and transported by F-M Ambulance Paramedics to Sanford Hospital in Fargo.
The unidentified adult male was conscious at the time. His condition is unknown.
